Bober, Peterson & Koby, LLP obtained victory for the Seahawks in a case involving a former Quarterback. Glenn Foley was a former Quarterback for the Seahawks who filed a claim alleging that Seattle should be subject to jurisdiction and liability in California for his work injuries over the course of his career. Seattle defended the case arguing that there was no contract in California with the Seahawks and that the claim should have been filed in the state of Washington pursuant to a valid choice of law and choice of forum selection clause. The Workers’ Compensation Judge ruled the Seahawks had no liability for the case. Liability was assessed to the San Diego Chargers in the case.
The case was handled by Tim Peterson on behalf of the Seattle Seahawks who were self-insured.
