Peter Martinez joins BPK with more than 20 years of experience defending Workers’ Compensation cases. He has extensive experience representing insurance carriers, self-insured employers, municipalities, counties, cities, and third-party administrators. Over the course of his career, Peter has also represented unions, injured workers, large lien claimants, and uninsured employers, giving him a well-rounded perspective on all aspects of Workers’ Compensation law.
Peter has significant experience with Union Carve-Out and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs, as well as in defending employers against Labor Code §132a claims and allegations of Serious and Willful misconduct.
He is recognized for his agility, innovative approach, and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. Peter’s philosophy emphasizes close collaboration with clients to effectively manage exposures and resolve cases as efficiently as possible.
Peter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Humboldt State University and his Juris Doctorate degree from the McGeorge School of Law. After completing his studies, he returned to his roots in Los Angeles, where he now resides with his family. Fluent in Spanish, Peter serves clients throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and San Diego. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains biking, hiking, and fishing.
